A little more realism …

I’ve been spending a little time sketchbooking with my daughter. We choose an image and then try to draw it as realistically as possible. It’s a super fun way to connect, and she is so into her creative process that she actually teaches me at this point! She’s amazing.

But then something takes over and I have to do the whole mixed media song and dance with my drawings … after I destroyed my realism and turned it into this my daughter said ‘yeah mom, that looks so much more like your style of art now’.

So funny - and so true. Regardless, I think I’ll be bringing a bit more realism into my creative practice.
