CPT William Arthur ‘Art’ Reynolds

711th Bomber Squadron, 447th Bombardment Group, Heavy, 8th Army Air Corps.

The family of CPT Reynolds wanted to know more about his service prior to being KIA over Germany in 1944. Revered as a hero in the family to this day, the details of his service had been lost with time, as the grief from his loss swallowed his parents’ hearts and left them silent. The next two generations have carried a hunger for information about this man whose loss is still felt. It was an honor to spend time with CPT Reynolds and his story, and provide his family with details of his fatal mission, first hand accounts of witnesses and other airmen who flew that day, the trajectory of his bomb group through the war, photographs, maps, and more in a full color 59 page report.
